Laura Sutton Floyd, Soprano 1
Soprano, Laura Sutton Floyd has been heard on the oratorio, operatic, and musical theatre stage in concerts of arts songs, sacred music and bossa nova, and as soloist with choral, symphonic and chamber groups. She has appeared with the Grand Rapids Symphony, Opera Grand Rapids, Hilton Head Symphony, Jackson Opera, Chamber Music Hilton Head, the Mary Green Chorale and the Sanctuary Choir of the First Presbyterian Church.
Raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Laura holds degrees in vocal performance from the University of Louisville and Michigan State University and served on the voice faculty of Hope College, Holland, Michigan from 1984-1999, before moving to Hilton Head Island with her husband, musician Rusty Floyd. A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS),Laura maintains an active private studio.
Most recently, Laura has sung with the Congregation Beth Yam choir, and as cantor at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
Gayle Lang, Soprano 1
A voice performance major from The Ohio State University and passionate about the choral and theater arts from a very young age, Gayle Lang has performed professionally with symphony orchestras and opera companies across the US.
Discography includes several commercial jingles, a documentary score for television, and a Holiday CD with Heartland Voices. In addition, Gayle spent 20 years working in musical theater as an award-winning producer, assistant director, actor, and costumer. Favorite leading roles include the Witch in Into the Woods, Beggarwoman in Sweeney Todd, Antonia in Man of La Mancha, Fastrada in Pippin, and many more. Her innovative costume and makeup design for The Fantastics garnered rave reviews from the manager of Cirque du Soliel in Las Vegas who attended a performance.
Locally, Gayle has appeared as soloist and choral member for the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, Hilton Head Choral Society, The Mary Green Chorale, Congregation Beth Yam, St. Luke’s Anglican Church, and First Presbyterian Church, among others. An employee of the HHSO since 2007, she also manages both the HHSO Chorus and The Mary Green Chorale. Gayle is thrilled to be a part of the Siren's Song Choirs.
Gabriela Griggs, Soprano 2
Currently studying English at Winthrop University, Gabriela Griggs has been participating in choirs since she was fourteen. Despite originally discovering her love for performance in theatrics, she shifted her focus to choral music at May River High School. There, she was president of the honor choir, president of Tri-M Music Honor Society, and selected for both SCMEA All State and the Southern ACDA’s selective SSAA choir in 2024.
Now, in her collegiate studies, she is the Editor-in-Chief of Winthrop’s art and creative writing publication, The Anthology, as well as AC&T Editor for Winthrop’s news publication, The Johnsonian. She is also station manager for Winthrop’s student radio station “Eagle Air” and president of Winthrop’s chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, an English honor society. Recently, she has had two poems accepted and published in Oakland University’s Spring 2026 edition of the “Oakland Arts Review.”
This performance with Siren’s Song is her most recent return to choral performance, following a brief participation in Winthrop University’s Chorale, where she was involved with the creation of a published Spotify EP, titled “All We Are.” She is excited to collaborate with new voices and create music once again.
Beth Curtis, Soprano 2
Beth Curtis lives in Bluffton and sings in various Lowcountry ensembles, including the Mary Green Chorale and the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Chorus. She regularly performs as a soloist at several local churches including First Presbyterian Church, All Saints Episcopal Church, Church of the Cross (Bluffton), and Congregation Beth Yam, singing for wedding, memorial, and worship services.
She has performed in a wide variety of venues, including an amusement park (where she met her husband, pianist Charlie Curtis), equity summer stock, a wedding reception band with her husband Charlie, and the May Festival Chorus/Chamber Choir in Cincinnati OH where she frequently sang under the direction of Maestro John Morris Russell.
Beth is a graduate of Indiana University School of Music and is a proud alumnus of the Singing Hoosiers. At age 29, Beth attended law school at night while working full time at Merrill Lynch. After passing the Ohio Bar Exam, she worked for 25 years as an HR executive at Federated Department Stores (now Macy’s Inc.) and at General Cable Corporation, a global manufacturer.
She and her husband have two adult children and two grandchildren. Beth is delighted to be singing in the Siren’s Song Choirs's premier concert!
Patricia Smith, Alto 1
Pat has a B.A. degree in Interior Design from Columbia College, Chicago. After a lengthy career in custom office furniture, the pandemic forced her into a 2nd career as a kitchen designer.
In Chicago, she sang with the Rockefeller Chapel Choir at the University of Chicago, Wheaton Symphony Chorus, as well as a soloist in churches in the Chicago suburbs. While singing with the Downers Grove Choral Society, she served as its treasurer and orchestra manager. She went on to co-found Acappellago in 2002, with her husband, Dennis. Acappellago, currently in its 25th season, remains the only fully amateur a cappella choir in Chicago. Pat served as it’s President for 16 seasons.
Since moving to Hilton Head Island, Pat has been found singing with the Mary Green Chorale, the Hilton Head Symphony Chorus, Sanctuary Choir of First Presbyterian Church, St. Luke’s Anglican Church and at Temple Oseh Shalom in Bluffton. She was recently appointed the alto section leader at All Saints Episcopal Church. Pat appeared as a soloist in the First Presbyterian Church’s 2025 presentation of the Mozart “Requiem” as well as with the Low Country Wind Symphony in 2021. She is scheduled to appear again with LCWS during their 2026-27 season.
Marie Tisdell, Alto 1
Marie Tisdell grew up in Bluffton, South Carolina, where she discovered a passion for music and performance at an early age. She sang as a member of May River High School's Mastersingers chorus and had the opportunity to perform with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra in their renditions of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Carmina Burana. These experiences helped shape her love of classical and choral music and inspired her to continue pursuing the performing arts.
Marie currently attends Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where she is studying Theatre Technology and Design with a minor in Music. She currently performs with the Winthrop University Chorale and the Collegiate Choir. Whether singing, designing, or collaborating with fellow artists, Marie enjoys contributing to meaningful artistic experiences that bring people together.
As a member of Sirens Song, Marie is excited to continue growing as a vocalist while performing alongside a talented and passionate ensemble. She looks forward to sharing the beauty, artistry, and connection of Sirens Song's performances with audiences and hopes to inspire others through the joy and expressive power of choral music.
Jody Hoffman, Alto 2
Jody began singing in a church youth choir at age 8 and then sang in school through senior year. She continued singing in church choir as an adult and from there was offered a position in the Hudson Valley Bach Festival Choir and the Hudson Valley Philharmonic Choir. During the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, she joined the Dutchess County Anti-Slavery Singers performing in costume for many audiences. As a member of this group, Jody created and fashioned many of the costumes.
Since moving to South Carolina, Jody has become a member of the Mary Green Chorale and the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Chorus. She continues to sing in her choir at First Presbyterian Church and serves as the music librarian for all the choirs at First Presbyterian.
Jody holds a B.A. in psychology from the University of Vermont as well as Rehabilitation Counseling certification along with an M.A. in Education. Through her work at the University, she developed a strong desire to create systems that support students with disabilities to participate and be successful in mainstream school classrooms. From there, Jody was accepted into a Ph.D. program in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation at Syracuse University. Subsequently, Jody developed a consulting business focusing on coaching teachers and administrators in working effectively with students with disabilities.
Anneliza Itkor, Alto 2
Anneliza Itkor has been making music since before she could reach a microphone. Her love affair with choral singing began in a Royal School of Church Music choir at an Episcopal Church in Chicago — a foundation that would follow her everywhere. She went on to study opera at the prestigious Lawrence Conservatory of Music, but the bright lights of the stage had other plans, pulling her irresistibly into the world of musical theater. From there, she performed in countless musicals in a variety of states and venues, including 2 national tours: The King and I (as Anna) and Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? (as Virginia), captivating audiences night after night.
A move to Los Angeles opened an entirely different chapter, lending her rich voice to major brands like Subaru, Sprint, and Birds Eye as a sought-after commercial voice-over artist. When life brought her to Hilton Head, she found her way back to both her spiritual and musical roots — cantoring professionally in sacred spaces where her voice feels most at home. She has also delighted in singing with The Mary Greene Chorale. Anneliza is thrilled and honored to be part of this extraordinarily gifted group under the inspired direction of Legato Bucklaw.
Tillotson Gadsden, Tenor 1
Tillotson Gadsden is originally from Charleston, South Carolina and currently resides in Bluffton, where he is blessed to combine his passions for music, community service, and leadership. As a countertenor, music has been an important part of Tilly’s life since childhood. He has participated in theater productions for much of his life and also studied and played the violin. Today, he continues to share his love of music by singing with the choir at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church and the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Chorus.
Tilly earned his bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and currently works in senior care in Beaufort County. He helps oversee one of the senior living communities in Bluffton and has spent the past several years serving older adults and their families. “It is a privilege to support seniors and contribute to their quality of life- giving back to the community is important to me.”
Tilly volunteers at Campbell AME Church's Soup Kitchen, helping provide meals to those in need. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, and exploring the culinary arts. He is also an avid Clemson football fan and enjoys learning about history, art, and marine biology. “Through service, music, and lifelong learning, I strive to make a positive difference in the lives of others.”
Steven Forbes, Tenor 2
Born in Beaufort, South Carolina, Steven Forbes grew up on Hilton Head Island with his mom, Jaime and two siblings- an older sister Amanda and younger brother Ben. He graduated from Hilton Head High School in 2013 and worked in the hospitality industry for 15 years before switching to his current field of accounting and administration.
Steven’s singing career as a second tenor began in August of last year with the Hilton Head Choral Society, performing in multiple concerts for their 50th anniversary. He is also a member of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Chorus.
In his free time, Steven enjoys cooking, gardening, video games, reading, and volunteering.
David Kimball, Tenor 2
David Kimbell has been a fixture of the music scene on Hilton Head for 40 years. He first made his mark here as an instrumentalist, playing several different string instruments(cello, bass, guitar, violin, mandolin, viola, banjo and more) in all sorts of venues, including concerts, theater, churches, weddings, etc. His abilities as an arranger and director came out over time. But he had never stopped singing, whether in bands, theater or church.
He is presently director of two different choirs, at Congregation Beth Yam and St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. His family includes several singers and voice teachers, but he never studied vocal technique. "I don't try to tell my singers how to sing, only what, when and why."
Dennis Smith, Bass 1
Dennis has 40 years’ experience as a choral conductor and singer, as well as being a co-founder and music director of the amateur a cappella choir, Acappellago, in the Chicago area.
As both a conductor and clarinetist, he enjoys presenting the works of contemporary composers and is excited about the fresh repertoire in Siren’s Song debut concert. He began his musical studies at the age of 4 on accordion and switched to the Clarinet at age 8. He studied Clarinet with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and is a graduate of the DePaul University School of Music.
Dennis’ career in choral music began in 1985 directing the adult choir of Bethel Reformed Church, Chicago. He served as the music director of the First Congregational Church of Lockport and Community Congregational Church of Villa Park. He has also sung with the Rockefeller Chapel Choir at the University of Chicago. Since moving to Hilton Head Island, hehas sung with the Hilton Head Symphony Chorus, Mary Green Chorale and the First Presbyterian Sanctuary Choir. He currently serves as Music Director for Temple Oseh Shalom, Bluffton, and Bass Section Leader at All Saints Episcopal Church (HHI). Additionally, he is the Clarinet section leader of the Low Country Wind Symphony in Beaufort.
Chad Martin, Bass 1
Chad Martin, a native of Blackville, SC., received a Master’s of Organ Performance from Winthrop University and a Bachelor’s of Organ Performance from Anderson University. Chad has served as music associate/organist or director of music/organist at churches in upstate SC, the Midlands, and the Lowcountry for the last 20 years. In addition to accompanying silent movies on the organ, he was the assistant accompanist for the Lexington County Choral Society, was a member of the Summerville Choral Society, and participated in the Charleston’s Men’s Chorus.
Chad is the past dean of the Lowcountry Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and was a featured artist in the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra’s 2016/2017 concert season performing Camille-Saint-Saëns Symphony No 3. He has also had the honor of taking two groups to perform with other choirs on stage at Carnegie Hall and will be taking his current church choir to perform at Ely Cathedral in Ely, England in 2027. Outside of music, Chad has been a Life Enrichment Coordinator at an assisted living facility and was also an apprentice funeral director/embalmer.
Currently, Chad serves as the Director of Music Ministries and Organist at First Presbyterian Church on Hilton Head Island, serves on the Board of Directors for the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, is a member of the Hilton Head Rotary Club, and also sings with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Chorus.
Frank G Schuetz Jr., Bass 2
Frank Schuetz, Jr. began his music education on piano at age 8, and then switched to flute at age 9. After changing his focus from classical approach to popular music as a teenager, Frank also took up guitar and began playing and singing rock, blues, soul, and jazz in combo bands. During and after college to become a CPA, he put his musical pursuits on hold to start and raise a family. After missing the thrill of performance, he later took up the saxophone and returned to playing/singing in combo bands and also with a number of jazz big bands in Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington, DC.
Frank moved from the Baltimore area to Bluffton, South Carolina, where he broadened his singing experience by performing in musical plays as an actor/singer. Over the last number of years Frank has also sung in programs with the St. Luke’s Anglican Church choir, First Presbyterian Church choir, and he is a member of The Mary Green Chorale and the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Chorus.
